Use this Approach
1. Know: Obtain information on resources that support adoption in your community online and through others around you who have experienced adoption in some way. As you obtain information about adoption, make sure it comes from honest, ethical and reputable sources, and only advocate those. There are many adoption agencies and attorneys available, so promote only those that focus on providing parenting assistance or support to birth mothers who are undecided about their choices. Additionally, make sure you are knowledgeable about adoption in general, as well as the issues surrounding abortion. Be well-educated on both topics before discussing them.
2. Show: Build relationships and focus on the audience you want to inspire. Use the knowledge you’ve gained to show others the truth about abortion and educate them on ethical adoption practices. Have conversations with your friends and peers over coffee or during dinner parties to familiarize them with the option of adoption. Integrate the topic of adoption into your discussions; people want to be informed and inspired.
3. Grow: Look around your community for resources and people who support the cause you want to champion. Engage your church, school, neighborhood, or workplace in partnering with ethical local or national adoption agencies. Volunteer alongside pro-adoption organizations and other community members to promote your message.
