Our Birth Mom and Birth Father Mentor program began almost ten years ago, and it has fostered special friendships, built a thriving community, and saved precious lives. We are always seeking passionate birth mothers and birth fathers across the United States who are eager to talk about adoption and support other potential birth mothers and birth fathers through their own unique adoption plan. We feel that birth parents who have gone through an adoption plan and have placed their child with an honest adoptive family, are the most suitable mentors to those just beginning their journey with adoption. You can help a potential birth mother or birth father see the positive aspects of their current situation and their future.

Birth Mother Mentors and Birth Father Mentors are paired with prospective birth parents who have reached out to Talk About Adoption™ and are beginning their decision in making an adoption plan for their child. The mentors offer support during and after the adoption process. Correspondence with these expectant mothers and fathers are strictly through phone conversations and emails, unless both parties decide to arrange in-person meetings. Consider the impact you can have by supporting an expectant mother or father in a situation similar to yours. What insights would you want to share with them—things you wish you had known during your own adoption process?

Requirements:

You must have placed your child with an adoptive family six months or more in order to participate.
A full background check must be completed.
A signed Oath promising good behavior and no coercion must be completed.
After Talk About Adoption™ receives both forms, a Skype interview or phone interview usually takes place to determine the final decision.
